No.1 The Start Menu itself will only display on one screenr at a time. I've never seen it simultaneously display on more than one screenr, ever. In Windows 8.1 you can open and run Metro Apps on more than one screen at a time so you could have a Metro App open on one screen and open the Metro Start Screen on another. However you can't do that in Windows 8.0, its one monitor only at any one time. To actually get the Start Menu to span across multiple displays you would have to be running an Eyefinity type setup where windows thinks its just one big screen.
EDIT: For clarification. Answer No.1 assumes the monitors are in extend mode. If you put them in Duplicate the Start Menu would display on both but it would not be two separate instances and not very useful.
No.2 Desktop programs will remember what monitor they were last used on and what window size they were closed at. Metro Apps won't. They open full screen on the monitor you launch them on. I really hope they fix that.
No.3 No not that I am aware off. The hot corners work on each monitor. To get what you want you'd need an Eyefinity type setup.

I've never seen or herd of anybody being able to launch two instances of the Start Menu simultaneously. If your monitors were in duplicate instead of extend it will show on both. Everything you do on one monitor will just mirror to the other, including your mouse cursor. That would be my guess.

Yeah, you can't snap or resize the Start menu, its full screen only. You can move it from screen to screen without any other open windows or apps moving. They may minimize but they stay on the screen they were launched on. Unless you manually move them that is. The size of the monitor determines how many Apps can be snapped side by side. I can snap 2 on my 1280x1024 monitors and 3 on my 1920x1080 monitor.

I just finished blowing the snow out of the driveway, still don't know if I can get the car out, lots of snow under it. It took me hours even with the snow blower. There is some I will have to shovel, my deck and front steps etc. I'm not looking forward to that as I have a bad back. The snow blower doesn't like that slushy icy stuff much. My street was plowed but its a step hill so its always a challenge getting in and out of the driveway.

I'm parked out on the street right now. As soon as I finish this coffee I'm going out and try to clean up my driveway before I put the car back in. I have to try and clean up my front walk too. The snow blower was just getting stuck and spinning its wheels on the icy stuff on the bottom. lol I guess I'll have to get some chains for it.

I just locked the snow blower away in the shed. I'm beat right now. Me and Captain Morgan are going to sit back and relax a bit now though.
